Following a spike in coronavirus cases, the Italian government has made face masks mandatory in all outdoor public spaces where social distancing is not possible, The Guardian reports.
For the first time in three months, Italy has reported over 500 new diagnoses of Covid-19 per day, on three consecutive days. Most cases have been traced to holiday-makers returning from Croatia, Spain, Greece, and Malta, and Italians are reportedly now fearing that fresh lockdown restrictions will have to be imposed.
