Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Leon has come to an agreement with the Health Ministry's director-general, Professor Hezi Levy, that in coming days, two drive-thru testing centers for coronavirus will be set up in eastern Jerusalem - one in Jabal Mukaber and the other in Sheikh Jarrah.
It was also agreed that the Health Ministry will apportion budgets to east Jerusalem hospitals and assist them in their battle against the coronavirus.
Following the agreement, Mayor Leon said: "Due to the high rate of contagion, addressing the needs of the residents of east Jerusalem is of the utmost importance. I wish to express my gratitude to Health Minister Yuli Edelstein and to the Ministry's director-general, Professor Hezi Levy, and also to the government's coronavirus project manager, Professor Ronni Gamzu."
