Indian health authorities have reported a massive rise in confirmed coronavirus cases, The Guardian reports, with 66,999 new infections diagnosed in the last day alone. Over 50,000 new cases have been confirmed every day for the past two weeks.
The death toll has now surpassed 47,000, with almost 2.4 million cases.
