Israel Police have opened a criminal investigation into the activities of convicted murderer Yonah Avrushmi, who caused the death of Emil Grunzweig in 1983 when he tossed a grenade into a crowd at a Peace Now rally.

Avrushmi, a right-wing activist, was sentenced to life in prison but was granted parole in 2011 and released from prison. Last week, he was interviewed on the Ulpan Shishi television program and allegedly made statements that could be interpreted as incitement to violence. The investigation was opened with the approval of the Deputy State Attorney for Special Cases.
