The Yesh Atid-Telem party plans to submit a demand that a commission of inquiry be established to investigate the "Submarine Affair" this Wednesday, for a preliminary vote in the Knesset.

The written explanation for the request notes that, "There exists grave suspicion regarding matters that touch on the heart of the state's security and strategic affairs, suspicion that decisions were taken that were not clearly based and were perhaps even criminal in nature. To this very day, the Prime Minister refuses to answer the question as to why he authorized the sale of advanced German submarines to Egypt without anyone [in the government or the IDF] being informed at the time. Therefore, establishing a parliamentary commission of inquiry is absolutely vital."
