Responding to a tweet by entrepreneur Elon Musk that stated: "Aliens built the pyramids obv," Egypt's Minister of International Co-operation Rania al-Mashat responded on Twitter, suggesting that Musk come and see for himself if the evidence before his eyes bore out the bizarre theory he proposed, which was retweeted almost 100,000 times, the BBC reports.
Rania Al-Mashat wrote: "I follow your work with a lot of admiration. I invite you & Space X to explore the writings about how the pyramids were built and also to check out the tombs of the pyramid builders. Mr. Musk, we are waiting for you."
Mr Musk later tweeted a link to a BBC History site about the lives of the pyramid builders, saying: "This BBC article provides a sensible summary for how it was done."
