An Israeli company that invented a device that takes invisible moisture out of the air and turns it into drinking water is providing fresh water to residents of the Gaza Strip. A single unit can produce 5,000 liters of water per day and hundreds of units will soon be appearing in the Hamas stronghold.

Potable drinking water is a significant in problem in Gaza since 95% of its underground water sources are contaminated. In addition to creating drinking water out of thin air, the Watergen device is solar-powered which is important in Gaza where the supply of electricity is often interrupted.
