Earlier today, Defense Minister Benny Gantz conducted a meeting via Zoom with the mayor of Qalansawe, Abdul-Baset Salameh, along with a senior member of the Home Front Command and senior officials from the Defense Ministry.
The discussion focused on the special needs of the town, noting that around 400 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus. Gantz promised that an immediate aid package would be sent to the town, and that a special budget of NIS 150,000 would be allocated for the purposes of evacuating Covid-19 patients as well as those in quarantine to "Corona hotels."
Gantz noted that, "In this battle against the coronavirus, there are no Jews and Arabs, secular and religious - we're all together in this. Our aim is to evacuate those who are sick, and the IDF is prepared to provide every form of assistance that is needed."
