Olivia de Havilland, who played the character of Melanie Wilkes in "Gone with the Wind," died yesterday in Paris at the age of 104.

She was nominated as best supporting actress for her role in the epic production.

De Havilland was born in Tokyo in 1916, grew up in California, and eventually moved to Paris in the 1950s with her second husband, Pierre Galante. She remained there for the rest of her life.
