Nir Saar, who was stabbed in the neck during a demonstration adjacent to the Gaza Strip, recounted what happened on Channel 12 News: "It was a small and quiet protest, with children and families. An atmosphere of a party," Saar described.

"We wanted to teach the kids what democracy is. When we came to fold up, two guys came to the intersection who started tearing up the signs. They wanted a fight. They had hatred in their eyes, they screamed 'Leftists, out of out town'."
