At 12:53 on Friday afternoon, United Airlines flight 090 from Newark touched down at Ben Gurion Airport and then seconds later took off again, taking its passengers back over the Mediterranean Sea.
The pilot announced that a sudden unexpected gust of wind had caused the pilots to change course. The plane then approached for a second, safe landing twelve minutes later.
