Referring to chants heard at last night's right-wing protest outside the Knesset, Economy Minister Amir Peretz (Labor) said that the words used by protesters were unacceptable and could lead to violence.
"Shouts of praise for Yigal Amir [imprisoned for the assassination of former PM Yitzhak Rabin] are appalling, and anyone who cares about Israel should condemn their words as well as those who utter them," he said. "We must never forget that words can be weaponized. This violent discourse in Israeli society must cease."
