Following a decision reached by the Knesset's coronavirus committee, government ministers convening via telephone call-in have authorized a new model for the operation of restaurants located within hotels.

Kan News reports that several ministers, among them Interior Minister Aryeh Deri and Construction Minister Yakov Litzman, opposed the move, arguing that synagogues are being discriminated against, even though worshipers wear face masks and observe social distancing, both of which are largely impossible in restaurants.

They thus demanded that synagogues should be permitted to allow entry up to 35% of their capacity.
