Chariman of Israel's employee union Arnon Bar-David in an unprecedented act has pledged to write a check of NIS 1000 shekels to every striking social worker. The money will be taken from the union's emergency strike fund.
Bar-David has also vowed that if the social workers' demands are not met, other public sector employees will strike in solidarity with them.
