Knesset member Yoel Razvozov (Yesh Atid) has suggested that since the government is non-essential, cabinet ministers should take a vacation without pay.
During the initial coronavirus lockdown, any business the government designated as non-essential had no choice but to either terminate employees or order them to take vacation without pay.
