The United States has recorded a new daily high of confirmed Covid-19 cases, according to the John Hopkins University coronavirus tracker. 77,300 new cases were reported in the last day.
The U.S. now has 3,576,221 confirmed infections, and a death toll of 138,358.
Second in place globally is Brazil, with 2,012,151 cases and 76,688 deaths.
Third is India, now with over 1 million reported cases and 25,602 deaths, though both of these figures are likely to be grossly under-reported.
