MK Keren Barak (Likud) has called on the government not to close summer programs in schools or preschools.

"We have to leave the summer programs open," she said. "We can only keep the economy functioning if parents can send their children to school; shutting schools has a paralyzing effect on the economy like almost nothing else. Especially now, when we have already learned how to divide children into 'capsules,' the schools should be left open - shutting them is actually likely to cause a rise in virus transmission."
