MDA has reported a 300% increase in calls to its 101 hotline from verified Covid-19 patients, seeking medical advice. Nonetheless, MDA stresses that when people suspect having contracted coronavirus, they should contact their local health fund.
According to MDA data, this past weekend 143,268 samples were taken for testing from private homes and schools, and 188,728 samples were taken from residents and staff members at care facilities and nursing homes. 142,038 samples were obtained at MDA's drive-thru testing centers, where a referral from a person's physician is needed.
MDA also reports that recovered coronavirus patients are still arriving to donate plasma. So far, 1,314 people have donated plasma, providing 4,000 plasma doses to treat 164 serious cases.
