Lebanon close to collapse, power outages affecting homes & hospitals

Lebanon is on the verge of collapse after bailout talks with the International Monetary Fund stalled, The Telegraph reports. More than half of the country's population is considered to be living in poverty.

Fuel shortages have now added to residents' misery, with not only homes but also hospitals hit, where outages can last as long as 14 hours.

Lebanon has been sliding toward disaster since last October, when the currency started to drop, leading to hyperinflation and wiping out people's savings.
