The Health Ministry has announced that from this Thursday, tens of thousands of text messages will be sent out to people who have come into contact with coronavirus carriers, due to the renewal of tracing conducted by the ISA (Shabak).

"We are aware of the difficulties this will cause for the general public, but is important to remember that this helps enormously in conducting epidemiological research and genuinely saves lives," a Health Ministry spokesperson said.

The Health Ministry stressed that receipt of a text message obligates a person to immediately enter self-quarantine until further notice.
