Updated figures from the Health Ministry presented to the government's coronavirus cabinet show that the number of patients in serious condition in June peaked at double the number there were in May.
Channel 11 News noted that in May there were 38 hospitalized patients in serious condition and 80 in June. In addition, the number of patients on ventilators increased by 20% in the last month.
