Minister for Economy and Industry MK Amir Peretz (Labor) has congratulated the government on its decision to extend unemployment benefits until mid-August for those sent on unpaid leave due to the coronavirus crisis.
"After many discussions held in the Cabinet, during which I requested such an extension, today they have finally approved this," Peretz said. "I will continue to promote a policy of people-centered economics designed to provide a safety net for every single citizen of Israel during this period of the coronavirus epidemic."
