Minister for Social Equality MK Meirav Cohen has congratulated the Prime Minister and Finance Minister on their decision to extend the period of eligibility for unemployment benefits and for grants to senior citizens who lost their jobs due to the coronavirus crisis.
"I commend the Prime Minister and Finance Minister for their decision, and thank them for being attentive to citizens' needs on this important issue," she said. "This is literally air to breath for those over 67 and those sent on unpaid leave. Our next step should be to provide additional incentives for employers to rehire their staff and bring people back into the workforce."
