In an interview published in Maariv, MK Avigdor Liberman, head of the Yisrael Beytenu party, attacked Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, saying that he is "crushing the security system and dragging us all into the abyss."
Among his criticisms, Liberman asserted that Netanyahu is not doing enough to deal with the growing threat posed by Iran. "He isn't doing enough. He isn't solving anything; he isn't doing anything to forestall a scenario in which rockets rain down on us - something that is likely enough to occur. If you pay close attention, you'll see that he isn't even talking about the Iranian threat anymore. Until recently, at least he talked about it."
Liberman noted that, "While it's true that they are experiencing grave economic difficulties in Iran, despite that, and despite the fall in the price of crude oil, the Iranians are continuing with their military buildup as if all that wasn't happening. They are also continuing to finance Hezbollah, Hamas, and Islamic Jihad."
