The government is expected to approve 700 workers from Jordan to work in hotels in Eilat. This is the first wave of entries, and subject to a drop in the unemployment rate, the entry of 800 additional workers will be approved, reported Kan News.

The initiator of the move is Tourism Minister Asaf Zamir, who explained in the decision that "the continued prohibition of workers entering the city of Eilat prevents the opening of hotels, since the employees from Jordan are the ones who hold most of their room and cleaning jobs."
