More than six million people have downloaded Germany's new smartphone app to trace coronavirus infections, The Guardian reports. The app was only launched yesterday. 83 million people live in Germany.
The German government has appealed to its citizens to download the app, insisting that it is the most sophisticated tool yet for tackling the pandemic.
