Turkey has reported an increase of 1,562 coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, The Guardian reports.

The number of new cases confirmed each day had been falling from late May until the end of last week; on June 2, for instance, just 786 new cases were diagnosed. Since then, however, Turkey has lifted travel restrictions and started to reopen the economy.

15 people died in the last 24 hours for a total of 4,807 since the outbreak of the pandemic. Turkey has a total of 178,239 confirmed cases.
