Gov't committee rejects proposal to provide benefits to self-employed

The ministerial committee on constitutional matters has rejected a draft proposal from MK Ofer Shelah (Yesh Atid-Telem) that would have provided social security benefits to self-employed workers.

MK Shelah responded: "This is a government that is disconnected from the general public. At a time when members of the Blue & White party are worrying about themselves and their ministerial privileges, small business owners are going under. We will bring this bill for a vote on Wednesday and give the committee another opportunity to reconsider."
