An Australian man identified as Karm or Cam Gilespie was sentenced to death in China for drug smuggling, Australia's government confirmed.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Gilespie is believed to have been arrested at an airport in 2013, when 7.5 kilograms (16 lbs) of methamphetamine, or "ice," was found in his luggage.
