Head of the Tax Authority Eran Yaakov has announced that penalties for late submission of documentation related to tax returns will be cancelled for businesses who submitted the forms up to five days late, during the period of the coronavirus epidemic.

Previously, the Tax Authority had announced a number of extensions to the date by which tax reports from January-February 2020 had to be submitted, as well as reports for March and April. Now, due to complaints of confusion regarding the regulations and dates, the Tax Authority has decided to cancel fines imposed on those who submit tax returns up to five days late, without the need to submit any additional documentation.
