According to a report in The Guardian, Russia has passed the half-million mark in its number of confirmed coronavirus cases.
8,779 new cases have been reported in the last day, for a total of 502,436 so far. 174 people died in the last 24 hours for a total of 6,532 so far.
Russia is third in the world in terms of case numbers, behind the United States and Brazil.
