The Knesset marked the anniversary of the Farhud pogrom against the Jews of Iraq for the first time. Hundreds of Jews were murdered in the attack that took place in 1941 at the hands of their Muslim neighbors.
Ofir Katz (Likud) has introduced legislation that would create a permanent Farhud Remembrance Day to be held annually on the anniversary of the attack.
