"At the end of last week, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) determined that Iran was refusing to authorize IAEA inspections of secret sites where it is conducting nuclear research for military purposes," Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said today as he opened a government meeting.
"Iran is systematically breaking its commitments to allow the monitoring of its atomic sites, enriching nuclear material, and committing other violations. I believe that the time has come ... for the international community to join the United States in reimposing sanctions on Iran," Netanyahu said.
"In any case, the coronavirus has not led to any lessening of our resolve to take action against Iran," he added. "I repeat: Israel will not allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons, and we will continue to act according to our interests when it comes to protecting ourselves from Iranian attempts to establish military outposts at our borders."
