Reserve General Amos Gilad, formerly head of the state-security department in the Defense Ministry, has criticized the government's intention to apply sovereignty to Judea, Samaria, and the Jordan Valley.

In an interview on Galei Tzahal (Army Radio), he said that, "This annexation plan is an example of bad policy management. Even if annexation doesn't happen in the end, the damage done will be extensive."

He added that, "If the IDF is dealing with protests and riots rather than the Iranian threat, this is a colossal waste of their time and effort."
