Commenting on the attack on former MK Yehuda Glick that left him hospitalized, Communications Minister Yoaz Hendel (Derekh Eretz) expressed his sorrow that Glick's gesture of compassion was responded to with violence.
"The tragedy of the unnecessary death of Iyad Al-Halak shocked me greatly," Hendel said. "I have spoken with Yehuda Glick, and I have the greatest of admiration for his way, of showing love for his fellow man. Yehuda represented me too in going to pay a condolence call on the family, and to my distress, a hand stretched out in peace was answered with violence. I wish him a full and speedy recovery."
