The Police Fraud Unit and Security Commissioner's Investigative Unit are currently investigating a suspected supply of defective N95 masks purchased by the Defense Ministry for the Health Ministry.
As part of the National Procurement Operation of Medical Equipment for Coping with the Coronavirus, the National Procurement Division (jointly with the Prime Minister's Office and Health and Defense Ministries) made available in April 2020 from an Israeli importer approximately one-and-a-half million N95 masks purchased overseas and intended for use by medical teams, paying for them a down payment of about NIS 5 million.
