The Commissioner for Credit Data Sharing, CPA Tzuriel Tamam, has announced his resignation from the Bank of Israel after a suitable replacement was found. CPA Eyal Hadad will be taking over his position.

Tamam will be leaving the Bank of Israel after 28 years, during which he occupied a number of positions, including Deputy Supervisor of Banks and Head of Institutional Review, which is in charge of ongoing monitoring of banking corporations and their risk profile assessment.

In his role as Supervisor of Credit Data Sharing, Tamam worked to implement the Credit Data Sharing Law and to build a "credit data system" established by the Bank of Israel under the law, as part of steps to promote credit market competition in Israel and improve the client's status in the credit market.

In a statement, Tamam thanked his colleagues at the Bank of Israel, "especially the loyal employees who helped to establish the credit data system and enabled it to function in a timely and effective manner for the benefit of the economy and the citizens of the State of Israel. I was an important partner in the Israeli economy and we met all the goals we set ourselves."

Director General of the Bank of Israel Hezi Kalo stated: "I would like to thank CPR Tzuriel Tamam for his many years of service at the Bank of Israel. Tzuriel's extensive knowledge of the financial world and his emphasis on banking and credit were an asset to the Bank of Israel. He was successful largely thanks to his unique vision that combined informed decision-making based on many years of experience and forward thinking while understanding the credit system's transformation and aspiration to benefit the borrowing community. I am certain that he will continue to use his knowledge for the benefit of the Israeli economy and the general public."
