Attorney-General Avichai Mandelblit has granted permission to the Chief Rabbinate to submit a request for a retrial on the matter of hospitals not being permitted to restrict the entry of chametz onto their premises during Passover, Galei Zahal reports.

A few weeks ago, in response to a private petition, the Supreme Court ruled that hospitals were to desist from their practice of prohibiting the entrance of chametz onto their premises during Passover, declaring that this unfairly infringed on citizens' rights. The ruling prompted a widespread outcry among traditional as well as religious Israelis.
