Extreme left-wing organization Peace Now has condemned the government's stated intention to apply sovereignty over Judea and Samaria.
"Today, it's clearer than ever that this annexation 'adventure' will destroy regional stability as well as Israel's international standing and her relations with countries considered friendly," the statement reads. "Netanyahu is about to lead us into tragedy solely in order to curry favor with a tiny minority of extremists. This would be a step that is totally disconnected from reality, one that lacks justification in political, security, and ethical terms. It would destroy us from within. This must not be allowed to happen."
Peace Now added that, "Unlike Netanyahu, Abu Mazen [PA President Abbas] has reiterated his commitment to bringing an end to conflict on the basis of a two-state solution. Now is the time for Gantz to prove that there is a partner for peace in Jerusalem, and as a first step, to stop the annexation, even if the price to pay is the dissolution of the government."
