Due to the extreme heat conditions prevailing this week, the Nature and Parks Authority has asked the general public to refrain from going on long hikes in nature, due to the real danger of dehydration and death.
"In recent days, there has been a significant number of incidents of people becoming dehydrated and needing to be rescued from hikes," the Authority stated. "People should only go on short hikes, where there are shady spots to sit and rest along the paths, as well as places where people can refresh themselves in natural springs or other sources of water."
