Senior officials in the Religious Zionist movement have alleged that Shas chairman Aryeh Deri fought to keep Yamina MKs excluded from influential government positions, including the chair of the Constitutional Committee.
"All along the way, he [Deri] made sure that Netanyahu would refuse the demands of Yamina," they stated. "The straw that broke the camel's back was the denigration of Rabbi Chaim Druckman and the refusal to offer Yamina the chairmanship of the Committee for Judicial Appointments - this effectively trampled on the rabbis of the Religious Zionist movement."
