The meeting of the National Security Council has now concluded, following its discussion regarding the reopening of synagogues in accordance with Health Ministry guidelines.

Taking part in the discussion was Rabbi Shmuel Slutki, director of the World Organization for Synagogues, who presented a plan that includes the appointment of someone responsible for all coronavirus-related matters in each synagogue, who will ensure that the guidelines are adhered to.

"We wish to thank the National Security Council and the Health Ministry for their efforts to find an appropriate framework within which to open synagogues in the immediate future," Rabbi Slutki said. "We hope that it will not be long before worshippers will be permitted to pray in synagogues once again and connect with their Creator."
