The Central District Attorney's Office announced today that the investigation file against suspect Moshe Asraf, the operator of the crane that collapsed in Kfar Saba causing the death of the late Neta Rotman, was closed.
An expert opinion from the Standards Institute determined through laboratory tests that there was an early, invisible fracture in the lever arm that caused the collapse during crane work.
This fracture caused another fracture in the lever arm, and the workload rate at which the suspect operated the lever could not be determined. Accordingly, the expert ruled that it could not be said with certainty that the suspect had caused the accident.
A notice of the closure of the file was given to the deceased's family and staff at a meeting with them at the prosecutor's office.
