Former GSS head Likud MK Avi Dichter expresses his regret at the Prime Minister's decision not to appoint him minister in the next government.
"In the next Knesset, I will fulfill my role with pride as a full Member of Knesset. Unfortunately, Prime Minister Netanyahu has decided not to appoint me as a minister in his government. Even in our conversation last night, I did not hear a rationale that could convince me or anyone else why I was not deemed fit by him for the position of minister and security cabinet member.
"Tens of thousands of Likud members and Likud voters wonder how it happened that Netanyahu decided this despite my place in the top ten positions on the primaries list, and the fact that I served twice as minister and former GSS chief. At the same time, I am a Likud man and a statist who respects decisions made by those in authority and will therefore support a government in which quite a few of my closest friends in Likud and in general are serving, and wish them success."
