MK Merav Michaeli (Labor) has announced that she will vote against the formation of the new government expected to be sworn in this evening.
"Today, the fourth of Netanyahu's five governments will be sworn into office," she said, "a government that is being established thanks to votes cast for the Left that were stolen by politicians and given to Netanyahu. My vote will not number among them. I will vote against this shameful government."
Michaeli's fellow party members, Amir Peretz and Itzik Shmuli, will be joining the unity government and will also be granted ministerial portfolios. Gesher head Orly Levy-Abekasis, who was formerly a member of the Gesher-Labor-Meretz faction, also broke off from her fellow faction members to join Likud and Benny Gantz.
