Spanish authorities have reported the country's lowest daily death toll in almost two months, The Guardian reports. 143 people died in the last day, and 621 new cases were confirmed. So far, 26,621 people have died in Spain, where the total number of infections stands at 224,390.
From tomorrow, more than half of the country will see lockdown regulations significantly relaxed. (The Madrid and Barcelona regions, which have been especially hard-hit by the virus, will maintain stricter guidelines.) Groups of up to 10 people will be permitted to meet, while maintaining social distancing; small businesses will be permitted to open; and cafes and restaurants will be allowed to open their outdoor terraces at 50% capacity. In addition, places of worship will be allowed to open at 30% capacity.
