Iran has continued to loosen lockdown regulations even as the number of new infections remains high and is now increasing, The Guardian reports.
Last week, the government reported "just" 802 new infections per day, the lowest level since early March, but yesterday's figures were up drastically to over 1,500.
Small businesses were allowed to open already several weeks ago; malls were reopened on April 21; and now foreign currency dealers have been permitted to resume operation.
The country now has a total of 107,603 confirmed infections and 6,640 dead, with 51 people dying of Covid-19 in the last day alone.
