(IsraelNationalNews.com) Police on Thursday afternoon arrested two residents of the Shomron community of Shavei Shomron for firing at an Arab vehicle in self-defense, wounding the occupants.

The two Shomron residents told police they were certain the car that was trying to pass them was about to open fire, prompting them to fire first in the hope of thwarting another drive-by terrorist shooting attack.

The incident occurred at Dir Sharaf Junction, an area frequented by terrorists of late. As a result of their pre-empting and opening fire, an Arab resident of a PA area and an Israeli Arab were wounded by gunfire. The Israeli Arab was transported to Meir Hospital in Kfar Saba.

Over past days, there have been an increasing number of reports by Jewish motorists of Arabs tailgating their vehicles and attempting to pass at high speeds. Yesha leaders are calling for banning Arab motorists from Yesha roads in an effort to bring a halt to the daily fatal shooting attacks.
