The Ministry of Health has contacted parents of more than 100 children and babies who were in the pediatric emergency department of Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv last Friday and summoned them with their children to receive treatment to prevent measles, due to fear of infection after it turned out that an 11-month-old in the department had the disease, according to News 2.
If you visited the department last weekend, your child or baby may be in danger, and may have even missed the opportunity for preventive treatment, which is only effective for the first 72 hours, which was until noon on Monday. Since the beginning of the year, 515 Israelis have been infected with measles, the highest number of infections in the past decade - more than ten times that of last year, when only 42 Israelis were infected. The reason for the outbreak of the disease in Israel, as in other places in the world, is apparently rooted in parents who refuse to vaccinate their children and thus endanger them as well as other children.
