United States Federal Judge Rosemary Collyer has refused a request by the family of Naftali Frankel to reconsider the $4.1 million in damages awarded from Syria and Iran for their role in the 2014 kidnap-murder by Hamas of Frankel and two other Samarian teens in the Gush Etzion area, according to Yediot Ahronot.
The family sought $340 million, a common figure in similar claims. While not absolving Syria or Iran, Judge Collyer cited the Frankels for taking on the risks in living in a community built beyond the 1949 Armistice Line and sending their son further into Judea and Samaria for school.
